| About me | This 4 months old female child’s name is Logitha. She lives in Thuraiyur, Trichirappalli District; Tamil Nadu. She has breathlessness and vomiting /swatting of her feeds. Her father is selling masala mix on streets. Her mother is a housewife. The gynecologist found some abnormality in Logitha at the time of birth and sent her to the pediatrician. He diagnosed that she may have some heart problem. So the child was taken to heart specialists. It was found out that she has a hole in the heart and she was given medicines.She was taken to Dr.K.M. Cherrian, a famous cardiac specialist in Frontier Lifeline Hospital, Chennai. And he diagnosed that she has Large AP Window with LR Shunt, Severe PAH,PFO with LR Shunt,Dilated LA,LV,Right Aortic Arch,Good Biventricular function. She is advised to undergo an OPEN HEART SURGERY (AP WINDOW CLOSURE).The total expenditure for the above mentioned surgery in a General Ward accomoodation will be approximately Rs.2,50,000/-. We have mobilized an amount of Rs. 25,000/- so far. We approach the good hearted who see this message, to save the life of this poor small baby, by contributing whatever they can and help us raise Rs.2,25,000/- for the open heart surgery and for post operative health care. |
| Updates | Logitha’s open heart surgery was successful under the eminent guidance of Dr. Cherian, a well known Cardiologist in Chennai on 02/02/2010. She was kept in the special ward for a week. Then she was sent to home. After a month she was affected by fever and was taken again to Chennai from Thuraiyur (305 Kms) and was readmitted to the hospital. Blood transfusion was done there. Medicines and syrups were given for 30 days. The medicines were powdered and given to the child. The doctors have adviced Logitha to take liquid foods and to take boiled and smashed apples. The open wound should be kept closed and clean so that it doesn’t get infected. The doctors have also adviced to keep the child in an air-conditioned room (to safeguard her from fever and cold in the summer) which is an extravagance for the child who lives in a room less than 100 sq. ft. Now she is recovering from the disease. She received Rs.4500 mobilised by New Life through Godparents, and Rs. 25000/- through other sources which is an invaluable help to the family and the child. They spent Rs.172000/- totally. They are collected Locally Rs.20000,Lending loan from his owner Rs.5000,Private money lenders 151000Logitha parents try for mobilising funds from with interest. Doctors gave medicines, shyrub for one month. Doctors advised to logitha parents “Her health condition not good condition it will take time. Due to the summer season she could not manage this climate. So Dr advised to accomplish the air conditioner. Monthly once will go to hospital for check up the health condition.The amount will be approximately Rs.2,50,000/-. We have mobilized an amount of Rs. 29,500/- so far. The total expenditure for the above mentioned surgery in a General Ward accommodation. |
